Two piece leather suits give you full circuit protection with the freedom to wear the jacket on its own. Macna and Difi build these as a zip-together jacket and pant pairing in cowhide leather, so you get track-day abrasion resistance without committing to a one piece every ride.
A 2 piece leather suit splits a full set of cornering protection into a jacket and pants that zip together at the waist, usually around a 360 degree connecting zip. The cowhide shell carries the abrasion load in a slide, and leather sits at the AAA end of the EN 17092 abrasion scale.
Macna vs Difi
Both ranges here use cowhide leather, the benchmark shell for high-speed abrasion resistance on track.

How to choose
Leather is the benchmark for abrasion. A 1.2mm to 1.4mm cowhide hide resists a slide far longer than a textile rated only EN 17092 A or AA, which is why these suits run leather. Confirm CE armour fitment at the shoulders, elbows and back. CE Level 2 armour transmits no more than 20 kN of impact force, against 35 kN for CE Level 1, so Level 2 absorbs more energy. A back protector should meet EN 1621-2 and limb armour EN 1621-1.
Fitment
A leather suit should fit snug with a slight crouch built in. Pre-curved arms and a stretch panel let you reach 90 degrees over the tank without bunching. Size up if the chest pulls at full lock. Cowhide gives 2 to 5 percent over the first 500km of wear, so a firm new fit settles in.
Frequently asked questions
What is a 2 piece motorcycle suit?
It is a leather jacket and pant that zip together at the waist to form a full suit. You ride with both joined for track-grade protection, or wear the jacket on its own for the commute. Macna and Difi build theirs in cowhide leather.
Is a 2 piece suit as safe as a 1 piece?
For most sport road and track-day use a properly zipped 2 piece is very close. The full 360 degree connecting zip keeps the jacket and pants locked together in a slide. The leather shell carries the abrasion, and CE Level 2 armour at the back, shoulders and elbows handles impact.
How should a leather 2 piece suit fit?
Snug, with pre-curved arms so it sits right in a riding crouch rather than standing upright. Cowhide leather gives a small amount over the first few hundred kilometres, so a firm new fit is correct. The waist zip should close without forcing your posture.
