Interphone intercom range

Interphone communication systems split into two technologies: Bluetooth chains and self-healing mesh. Bluetooth UCOM units pair a fixed group of riders. The mesh UCOM16 holds a larger pack together and reconnects automatically across the open road.

Model Network Max riders Speaker size Control
UCOM3TP Bluetooth 5.0 2 32mm Buttons
UCOM6R Bluetooth 5.0 2 32mm 3-button remote
UCOM4 Bluetooth 5.0 4 32mm Buttons
UCOM7R Bluetooth 5.0 4 40mm 3-button remote
UCOM3HD Bluetooth 5.0 4 40mm HD Buttons
UCOM16 Mesh 24 40mm HD Buttons

Bluetooth against mesh

Bluetooth chains link riders in a set sequence and need re-pairing when one drops below roughly 800m of range. Mesh networking is self-healing, so the UCOM16 keeps up to 24 riders connected and reconnects on its own as the pack moves in and out of a 2km spread at highway pace.

Audio and fitment facts

40mm HD speakers on the UCOM7R, UCOM3HD and UCOM16 push clearer mid and high tones than standard 32mm drivers when wind noise climbs past 100km/h. Talk time runs around 13 hours on the UCOM range. Every unit clamps to full-face, modular and open-face helmets with the supplied bracket and 3M adhesive base. IP67 water resistance lets the hardware shrug off rain, and a 3.5mm port on relevant models gives a wired backup. While intercoms carry no EN 17092 abrasion rating or CE Level 1 or CE Level 2 armour certification (those standards apply to jackets, pants and back protectors, not comms), pairing one with EN 17092 AAA-rated kit keeps your whole setup sorted.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Bluetooth and mesh Interphone intercoms?

Bluetooth UCOM models pair a set number of riders in a chain and need re-pairing if a rider drops out. The mesh UCOM16 keeps the whole group connected and self-heals as riders move in and out of range, making it better for larger packs of up to 24 riders.

How many riders can connect on an Interphone intercom?

It depends on the model. The UCOM3TP and UCOM6R link 2 riders, the UCOM4, UCOM7R and UCOM3HD reach up to 4 riders, and the mesh UCOM16 scales to 24 connected riders in one group.

Do Interphone intercoms fit full-face and modular helmets?

Yes. Every Interphone unit installs on full-face, modular and open-face helmets using the supplied clamp bracket and 3M adhesive base, with 40mm HD speakers on the UCOM7R, UCOM3HD and UCOM16 for clearer audio at highway speed.
