How to choose your LS2 helmet

Helmet style follows your riding type. Full-face shells like the FF353 Rapid II and FF800 Storm II give the widest coverage by wrapping the chin bar and jaw. Open-face OF616 Airflow II and OF599 Spitfire II shells trade chin protection for airflow and visibility. The FF811 Vector II suits sport and touring riders who want a closed shell with strong ventilation.

Fit and certification

Fit is the safety feature that matters most. Measure your head circumference 25mm above the eyebrows and match it to the size chart, which runs XS through to XXL across a 53cm to 64cm span. A correct helmet sits snug with zero pressure points and no movement when you shake your head. Road helmets sold here meet the ECE 22.06 standard, which adds rotational impact tests at 3 speeds and assesses up to 18 points per shell. Carbon shells cut weight toward the 1300g range, which reduces neck fatigue over rides above 2 hours. If you pair your helmet with a riding jacket, look for EN 17092 abrasion ratings of AAA, AA or A, plus CE Level 1 or CE Level 2 armour at the shoulders and elbows. Replace any helmet within 5 years of its manufacture date or after 1 significant impact, as liner foam compresses over time.
