Choosing the Right Vee Rubber Tyre

Tyre selection starts with three non-negotiable specs: rim diameter, section width, and tube or tubeless construction. Getting any one of these wrong means the tyre will not seat, seal, or perform safely. Vee Rubber covers rim sizes from 10-inch scooter wheels up to 21-inch trail front wheels, with tubeless (T/L) and tube-type (T/T) variants clearly designated in every part number.

Construction and Application Guide

Application Typical Rim Size Construction Terrain
Scooter / Urban 10–12 inch Tubeless Sealed road
Scooter / Commuter 14–16 inch Tubeless or Tube-type Sealed road
Trail / Enduro Front 21 inch Tube-type Intermediate mixed terrain
Trail / Enduro Rear 17–18 inch Tube-type Hard/mixed terrain

Reading a Vee Rubber Size Code

A size like 130/70-12 tells you: 130 mm section width, 70% aspect ratio (sidewall height equals 91 mm), and 12-inch rim diameter. A traditional size like 350-10 uses an older inch-based system where 3.50 refers to the approximate section width in inches on a 10-inch rim. Always cross-reference your bike's swing-arm clearance and rim width spec before fitting , a 130-section rear on a rim rated for a 110-section will cause the tyre to stand too tall and affect steering geometry.

Tubeless vs Tube-Type

Tubeless tyres (marked T/L) rely on an airtight bead-to-rim seal and can be plugged roadside after a puncture without removing the wheel. Tube-type tyres (marked T/T or TT) require an inner tube; fitting a tube-type tyre without a tube, or onto a rim not rated for tubeless, will result in sudden deflation. Some Vee Rubber models carry dual TT/TBL markings, indicating they meet both standards and can be run either way on a compatible rim.

Load and Speed Ratings

Every tyre in this range carries a numeric load index and speed symbol. A rating of 43P, for example, means a maximum load of 155 kg per tyre at a sustained speed ceiling of 150 km/h. Never exceed the load or speed rating stamped on the sidewall, and always match or exceed the rating specified in your vehicle's owner manual.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if a Vee Rubber tyre is tubeless or tube-type?

Check the size code suffix on the tyre sidewall and in the product title. T/L denotes tubeless, T/T or TT denotes tube-type, and TT/TBL means the tyre is approved for both constructions on a compatible rim.

Can I fit a Vee Rubber tube-type tyre without an inner tube?

No. A tube-type tyre is not manufactured with an airtight bead design and will not hold pressure on a standard rim without a tube. Fitting one without a tube risks sudden deflation. Only tyres marked T/L or TT/TBL are suitable for tubeless use.

What does the aspect ratio in a tyre size like 120/70-10 mean?

The middle number is the aspect ratio , the sidewall height expressed as a percentage of the section width. On a 120/70-10, the sidewall height is 70% of 120 mm, giving an 84 mm sidewall. A lower aspect ratio means a shorter, stiffer sidewall suited to performance and scooter fitments.
