Designed for riders by riders

The FIM Intercontinental Games have officially kicked off at Jerez, and what an event it's shaping up to be. This is the first time in FIM's 120-year history that riders from all over the world have come together for a competition like this. It's about teamwork, skill, and pride as six continental unions: Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, Latin America, and Oceania battle it out across two classes: Supersport R7 and Supersport 300.

The bikes are equalised, provided by Yamaha Europe, so it's all about the riders talent and strategy. And with a mix of established stars and emerging talent, this event is already delivering on its promise to be something truly special. And something to tune into

For Team Oceania, our Supersport 300 squad, haven't disappointed. Let's dive into how our riders fared after practice and qualifying for the day

Archie McDonald: The Pace Setter

Archie McDonald's been on fire all year, and he's carried that form straight into Jerez. Coming off a stellar season in ASBK Supersport 600 and the FIM Junior GP, Archie's been a man on a mission. He was untouchable in Q1 setting the pace and finishing P1, and in Q2, he looked like he'd break into the 1:56s before a small mistake at the last corner cost him.

Still, a 1:57.011 was enough to lock in P2 and a front row start. This guy's not just fast he's one of the most exciting personalities in the paddock, and he's showing the world why he's a rider to watch.

Cameron Swain: The Final Lap Move

Cameron Swain pulled off something special in Q2. Fighting through a crowded pack at the end of the session, he managed to nail P3 on his last lap, putting two Oceania riders on the front row!

Cameron's no stranger to international competition he raced in the Yamaha R3 World Cup, bagging wins and podiums along the way. And here's the big news: Cameron's now officially part of the Shark Leathers family. We're absolutely stoked to have him onboard and can't wait to see what he delivers and we can do together in the 2025 season.

Jesse Stroud: The Kiwi Boy

Jesse Stroud is the definition of a quiet achiever. The Kiwi rider secured P9, rounding out three Oceania riders in the top 10. This year, Jesse stepped onto the ASBK scene for the first time, earning race wins, setting lap records, and adapting to every new track he visited.

Jesse's proven that he can keep improving as the weekend goes on, so don't be surprised if he moves up the field during the race. He's an asset to the team and another proud Shark Leathers supported rider.

Tara Morrison: The Deciding Factor

Tara Morrison is Team Oceania's nominated female rider, and her role is critical. If two teams end up on equal points, the tie breaker comes down to which team's female rider set the fastest time. Tara finished P22, just 4 positions behind Europe's Josephine Bruno.

Tara's performance shows how much every team member contributes to Oceania's success. It's a team effort here.

Supersport R7: The Big Names Take the Stage

Over in the R7 class, Team Oceania is stacked with talent: Mike Jones, Tom Toparis, Max Stauffer, and Tayla Relph. Max had a tough start with a crash in Q1, but this team has plenty of experience and skill to bounce back when it counts. The Supersport races are going to be just as thrilling as the 300s, so don't take your eyes off them.

What Makes This Event Special?

The FIM Intercontinental Games are unlike anything else in motorcycle racing. It's not just about individual glory it's about working together as a team and representing your region on the global stage. Events like this bring people together, break down barriers, and show the world what the sport is all about.

For Oceania, having three riders in the Supersport 300 top 10— ncluding two on the front row shows just how strong our team is. Add the camaraderie and strategy we've seen in qualifying, and this is shaping up to be a weekend to remember.

Bring on Race Day!

Team Oceania has put themselves in an incredible position. With Shark Leathers riders Archie McDonald, Cameron Swain, and Jesse Stroud leading the way, plus the entire team firing on all cylinders, we're ready to take on the world. Let's go, Oceania!
