Goggles are the first line of defence for your eyes on dirt, dust and roost. Our off-road and MX range covers Leatt, Thor, Spy Optic, Shot, Nitro, Airoh and RXT. Wide-vision frames, layered foam and tear-off ready lenses keep your sightline clear from the gate drop to the chequered flag.
How to choose motorcycle goggles
Lens protection is the single most important spec on any goggle. Polycarbonate lenses resist impact and block 100% of UVA and UVB rays, while anti-fog coatings and dual-pane lenses with a 1mm to 2mm air gap stop condensation when sweat and humidity climb. Match the goggle to your riding conditions, not just the colour.
| Lens / Feature | Best Use | Key Spec |
|---|---|---|
| Clear lens | Low light, dusk, overcast | Up to 90% light transmission |
| Smoke / tinted | Bright sun, open tracks | 15% to 30% light transmission |
| Mirror / Spectra | Full sun, glare reduction | Reflective coating, 100% UV block |
| Roll-off ready | Mud, wet enduro | 36mm film canisters |
| Tear-off posts | MX racing | Stacks of 7 to 10 tear-offs |
Fit, foam and standards
Triple-layer face foam seals dust out and wicks sweat across a 3mm to 12mm depth, while a 40mm to 48mm silicone-backed strap grips the helmet shell and stops slip at speed. Lenses pop out in seconds for swaps, and most frames accept both 45mm roll-off systems and standard tear-offs. Youth frames run narrower outriggers for smaller helmets. A 100% UV-rated lens protects against long-term eye damage, so treat the lens spec as a safety item.
Goggles sit outside EN 17092, which rates riding garments at AAA, AA and A abrasion levels, and outside the CE Level 1 and Level 2 armour scale used for impact protectors. Eye protection is governed by impact-rated polycarbonate instead, so pair quality goggles with certified kit. Browse Off-Road Helmets, layer up with Chest Protectors, add Knee Guards, and round out your kit with MX Jerseys.
Frequently asked questions
What lens tint should I choose for motorcycle goggles?
Run a clear lens for low light, dusk and overcast riding where you need up to 90% light transmission. Switch to a smoke or tinted lens in bright sun for 15% to 30% transmission, or a mirror lens to cut glare on open tracks. Every quality lens blocks 100% of UVA and UVB rays.
What is the difference between tear-offs and roll-offs?
Tear-offs are stacks of laminated films you peel away one at a time when they mud up, ideal for short MX motos. Roll-offs use a 36mm film canister system you advance across the lens, better for long, wet enduro where you cannot stop to peel.
Will these goggles fit over my helmet?
Most off-road goggles use a 40mm to 48mm silicone-backed strap that grips the helmet shell and sits in the eye port of a peaked off-road or MX helmet. Triple-layer foam seals against your face, and youth frames run narrower outriggers to suit smaller helmet shells.
